The Jafran Restaurant in Broadwater, Worthing has been named among the best South Asian restaurants in the region by members of the House of Commons, after clinching the regional runner-up position in this year’s Tiffin Cup.
The Tiffin Cup is awarded each year by a cross-party group of MPs called the Tiffin Club, where each member is invited to nominate the best South Asian restaurant in their constituency.
Tim Loughton MP nominated the Jafran Restaurant in Broadwater Street West, and presented Koddus Ali with an embroidered Tiffin Cup 2012 chef's jacket, hat and certificate.
At the celebratory lunch, Mr Loughton was joined by Worthing Councillor Bryan Turner and local resident John Brooke. Mr Brooke was the very first customer of Mr Ali when he opened his first business, a take-away in Kingsland Road, in 1987.
