Worthing Civic Centre car park is to be made free on consecutive Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas.
December 5, 12, 19 will be made free at the Stoke Abbott Road site, owned by Worthing Borough Council, to encourage more shoppers to support local traders after lockdown is lifted at the end of this month.
Cllr Kevin Jenkins, Worthing Borough Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, said:
"I hope as many people will come into town and support our local traders in the festive season, with this offer of free parking at the civic centre, encouraging a park and short stride into town.
"These businesses are the lifeblood of our town centre and have worked hard to ensure they can offer a safe shopping experience. We all need to do all we can to help them keep trading during this difficult time in the lead up to Christmas and on into next year."
