Conservative members and friends gathered at the Royal Jaipur restaurant in Brighton Road, Worthing, to enjoy an excellent meal and to raise funds for Ferring Country Centre.
We tasked Ali, the Royal Jaipur's owner, to come up with a range of dishes from India to reflect his upbringing in the Punjab to be different from the menus which have evolved to reflect anglicised taste buds. He and his chefs did a super job.
We were also entertained by belly dancers from Amunet, sponsored by Nadeem Khan and Cllr Bryan Turner.
After dinner speeches were by Ishrah Khan, Cllr Paul Yallop, Cllr Ann Barlow and John Rogers, representing Ferring Country Centre.
Ferring CC benefitted by £85, while the Ward's election fighting fund was boosted by £160.
