Key workers at Adur & Worthing Councils' Coastal Office have received civic thanks for stepping up their valuable service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
As millions across the nation were placed on furlough or began working from home, wardens Amanda Falconer, Rob Dove and Tommy Broad have been ever-present in looking out for the public's safety and wellbeing.
In a year that's seen a record number of incidents, the Coastal Office team, based on Worthing's promenade between the pier and the Lido, have not failed to miss a working day - sacrificing annual leave and national holidays to be there for locals or visitors in their hour of need.
In recognition of the team's efforts, the Mayor of Worthing Cllr Lionel Harman visited the Coastal Office to learn more about their work and present them with a certificate of bravery.
Cllr Harman said:
“I think it's essential that we actually make a point in thanking the people that have done so much for us in these difficult times.
“The Coastal Office staff have been really good, they've had a challenging year and even if it's in a small way like a certificate I think it's important that we come out and thank them for keeping our coastline and visitors to it safe.”
