This week our Member of Parliament, Tim Loughton, joined Samaritans to celebrate Brew Monday, find more information below:
''When it’s cold and grey outside, getting people together to connect over a warming cuppa and a good conversation can help to make us feel better and manage the ups and downs of life. That’s why Samaritans is running its ‘Brew Monday’ fundraising initiative for its fourth consecutive year and helping people turn the winter blues into brews. I joined Samaritans in Parliament on Monday 3 February for tea and biscuits, to hear about Samaritans’ suicide prevention work, and receive tips on how people can become better listeners.
Samaritans is encouraging supporters to come together over a cup of tea throughout February. Supporters can use the get-togethers to check on those who might be feeling lonely and also raise vital funds for the charity, which will in turn give people having a tough time somewhere to turn when they need to talk. A donation of as little as £5 can help Samaritans answer a call from someone struggling to cope.
To sign up for a free Brew Monday fundraising pack, visit https://www.samaritans.org/support-us/campaign/brew-monday/. You can join the conversation on social media using #BrewMonday and why not make a donation while you’re there? You could help save a life.''
