On Friday 2nd March, Tim Loughton MP welcomed the Ports MInister, Nusrat Ghani MP, to Shoreham Port. The busy port provides employment for 1600 staff, and handles over 2 million tons of cargo each year.
The meeting was also attended by Colin Head (Conservative candidate for St Mary's Ward in Shoreham) and Andy McGregor (Conservative candidate for Widewater Ward in Lancing).
Discussion with Chief Executive Rodney Lunn and other repreentatives from the British Ports Association centred on the prospects for British Ports post-brexit, and how new technology might ease the speedy clearing of cargo.
