Tim Loughton has been re-elected to serve as the Member of Parliamnet for East Worthing and Shoreham.
The result was delcared at 7.00am on the morning of 8th May, after a count lasting through the night.
In his acceptance speech Tim said " I'd also pay tribute to all the other candidates for a good, clean, honest fight. Politics at its best. I'll do my upmost to pay the confidence that has been shown in me. We've never taken this seat for granted.
"We didn't win it in the last five weeks, we won it in the last five years, engaging with people as politicans should do. I'm proud to represent people who have cast their vote today to cast their confidence in a government that will keep us on the economic track back to recovery, that makes work pay."
Tim's majority was 14,949 votes, on a 67% turnout.
The Association wishes to thank the Returning Officer, his staff at the polling stations and at the count, and that staff of Lancing Leisure Centre.
Also, the Association thanks all campaigners, canvassers, members and volunteers who made the result possible.
