MP for East Worthing and Shoreham and Children’s Minister, Tim Loughton, is encouraging all of his constituents who are aged 14-18 to engage in a great scheme allowing them to make decisions on the UK’s economic policy.
The Citizenship Foundation, in partnership with Aviva, is giving young members of Tim’s constituency a platform to voice their views on important economic decisions by taking part in Chance to be Chancellor.
Chance to be Chancellor is an online tool that challenges young people (14-18) to make informed decisions on real taxation & spending policies.
Last year, it engaged 3000 young people across the UK and published their views in the first ever ‘Youth Budget’.
Tim said:
‘I am supporting the launch of Chance to be Chancellor 2012 and calling on schools and young people in East Worthing and Shoreham to take up this challenge to learn about, and share their opinions on, Budget 2012.
This is a great opportunity for young people to engage in politics and create a better understanding of our current economic climate. It is easy to access and will give them a chance to put forward their suggestions.’
