Adur District Council has granted a short term lease to a football academy to run the 3G pitches at Lancing Manor Leisure Centre so they can be re-opened immediately.
Well-known ACE Football Academy of Lancing will run the pitches until a new operator is confirmed to run the district's leisure services. ACE, which runs football coaching for youngsters, can be contacted for bookings on 07772 073 926 or 07817 304 334.
Adur District Council's Executive Member for the Environment, Cllr Emma Evans, said:
“I'm pleased ACE are on board to open up these pitches for immediate use. We were always determined to try to get some of our leisure services up and running again as soon as we could. We know the benefits of exercise out in the open air so I'm delighted these pitches are reopening.”
It was announced this week that the Council is seeking to enter into a five year deal with South Downs Leisure, the operators of leisure services in Worthing, to run Lancing Manor, Southwick Leisure Centre and Wadurs Swimming Pool. They could be open by March next year.
