Vital financial support to businesses and community groups forced to close by lockdown is now available through Adur & Worthing Councils.
With thousands of local retailers, companies and organisations told to shut until 2nd December 2020 under new restrictions, about £3 million has been provided by the government to support local traders and groups.
This means eligible businesses and organisations forced to close can apply for up to £3,000 to cover costs for the next month. The amount will depend on the size of the premises.
Among those to benefit from the Local Restrictions Support Grant will be hospitality, leisure organisations, entertainment venues, hairdressers, community centres and places of worship.
Those eligible are encouraged to register their details at the Councils' online portal, which can be accessed via the link below.
Businesses that have been told to close but are continuing to operate in some form, such as cafes offering takeaways or click and collect services, will still be eligible for the grant.
The Councils will also oversee the distribution of a further pot of discretionary support - known as the Additional Restrictions Grant - to those who are impacted but do not meet the initial criteria. Details on this will be made public as soon as possible.
