Businesses, sole traders and organisations impacted by the COVID pandemic are being encouraged to apply for further financial support through Adur & Worthing Councils - with one-to-one advice on offer to those in need.
Almost £35 million in grants have been distributed to local employers and community groups by the Councils' business support team since the first lockdown in March.
The government has now made further recurring grants available to businesses directly impacted by the new tier two guidance (on the GOV.UK website), such as pubs, restaurants and nightclubs. This is in addition to funding for those forced to close by the national restrictions in November. A range of non-COVID grants are also available locally.
To ensure vital support is provided to those in need, all businesses impacted by COVID - including those who have already received grants - are urged to review what funding they may be eligible for on our business support page (see link below).
Those with queries or in need of more detailed guidance are encouraged to contact the Councils directly so that a member of the team can provide one-to-one signposting.
The Councils will also continue to contact a range of businesses directly with specific details of available funding, especially those in the hospitality and leisure industry who have been impacted more than others by the current set of restrictions.
A Councils spokesman said:
“Throughout the last ten months our business support teams have worked tirelessly to process and pay out millions of pounds worth of vital grants to local businesses and organisations.
“We know it's been a really tough year and we want to make sure that those who need it are supported into the new year. But we also appreciate that applying for grants and working out eligibility takes time, time that business owners would much rather spend on keeping their organisations afloat.
“That's why we are making a direct offer to those impacted to contact our team, so we can offer quick and easy-to-understand advice which we hope will make life a little easier for those businesses which are the foundation of our local economy.”
