On Monday work will start reconstructing one of the outfalls from Brooklands Lake, to reduce the risk of flooding.
The Brooklands outfalls drain water from Brooklands Lake and the Teville stream.
By completing this work on Worthing beach the facility will be restored to full safe working condition.
The work will replace a failed section of outfall pipe and its supporting structure on the beach opposite Brooklands Lake.
The reconstruction will cost approximately £130,000 and will be undertaken by J.T. Mackley and Co. Ltd.
Work to reconstruct one of the three outfalls from Brooklands Lake will commence on Monday 18th January 2021 and is expected to take approximately 8 weeks. The watersports concession on Worthing seafront has been informed.
These images are of the current broken outfall. The new structure will be very similar.
This improvement work is separate to the Brooklands masterplan.
