The past year has shown what communities can achieve when they come together. The sense of community spirit - through setting up ‘Shopital’ (providing hot meals to our NHS heroes at Worthing Hospital), organising community hubs to help the most vulnerable through the pandemic, to now volunteering at vaccination hubs to get the community back to ‘normal’- has been inspirational.
But ‘normal’ looks a lot different now.
That is why voting for your local Conservative Candidates on May 6th is so important.
Your Conservative run Council has been at the heart of that community support. Distributing over £16 million of support to 2,700 local businesses through COVID grants. Setting up community hubs - helping neighbours to help neighbours - and provided the Gateway Hub, Adur Community Cafe, and others with over £1.5 million of support.
Focusing on an environmental recovery, the Council continues to exceed their goals of carbon neutrality by 2030; purchased land to improve biodiversity, delivering a kelp forest with aspirations to have a ‘blue’ national park off our coast, banned trawling near our shores to support this work. The Council has helped to facilitate the incredible vaccination programme. Only competent, compassionate and well-run Councils can truly be successful. We have seen what the opposite of that looks like in Brighton - a poorly run Council delivering bad results. Only voting for your Conservative candidates will ensure the same fate doesn’t happen to Shoreham.
We treasure our beautiful town, we keep our parks green, our streets clean and will not turn it into ‘Little Brighton’. Vote Conservative on May 6th to ensure this opportunity to Build Back Better isn’t wasted.
