The Prime Minister has announced that the government will shift from ‘jabs, jabs, jabs’ to ‘jobs, jobs, jobs. That’s the message from East Worthing and Shoreham Conservatives too—especially for younger people who have been affected by the pandemic.
Worthing Borough Council’s executive member for regeneration, Cllr Kevin Jenkins says ‘As we come out of lockdown we have to make sure there are jobs for local people. Our action to support young people, our work with training providers and partnership with Job Centre Plus is ensuring that there will be jobs for people as we recover from the pandemic’.
Thanks to the efforts of your local Conservative councillors, Adur and Worthing Councils has achieved ‘flagship’ status as a gateway for the Government’s Kickstart jobs scheme. This is a vitally important move for the area and already 40 roles have been recruited for young people in Worthing. A further 40 will be recruited by the end of this year.
We are providing more apprenticeships, delivering new employment space in Worthing and Adur and protecting existing employment space from being turned into inadequate housing.
Work on our exciting plans to rejuvenate the town centre has begun.
This all means more jobs for local people and one less worry for you and your families.
